A tall wiry man with intense grey eyes rushed to the counter.

“Give me a pack of Menthol Slims, he ordered as he threw down a twenty dollar bill. He pulled out his smart phone and began furiously sliding his fingers across the screen.

“Eleven dollars and sixty nine cents,” Mara said as the smile faded from her lips.

The customer snatched the receipt from her hand, grabbed his change and hurried from the store.

“You didn’t ask him if he wanted a candy bar,” Chuck snapped as he made his way around the counter.
